Nomadic Washrooms are in the ‘posh loo hire’ business! We deliver luxury toilet and shower trailers to support private outdoor events such as weddings, birthday parties, camping events, and anniversary celebrations – to name a few.
Toilet and shower hire is an essential and lucrative service that’s key to the comfort of open air events. As a franchisee, you will provide accessible and comfortable toilet and shower facilities, using sustainable products and methods.


The role of a Franchisee
Every aspect of the service is set out so that franchisees are able to follow the tried and tested methods that underpin our success. As a prospective toilet and shower hire franchisee, you will require a reasonably sized yard to store a minimum of 5 trailers and a vehicle capable of towing them. Additionally, you will be responsible for the following:
- Visiting event sites to assess the suitability of the proposed location for trailers.
- Client liaison, delivery, installation, and collection of the trailers.
- Managing maintenance problems or on-site repair during an event.
- Cleaning and maintenance of toilet and shower hires between events.
- Following operational procedures as explained in our Franchisee Operations Manual.

The Little Shepherd
The Little Shepherd is the cosiest in our flock and perfect for small weddings, events or small pop-up glamping sites. It includes a dual-purpose toilet cubicle and shower unit.

The Shepherdess is our most popular unit and is ideal for medium to large sized events and weddings. It has two ladies cubicles, one gent’s cubicle and a quirky urinal.

The Master Shepherd
The Master Shepherd is our biggest luxury toilet hire and great for large events. Kitted out in our rustic decor are three female cubicles, one gent’s cubicle and two milk churn urinals.

The Showering Shepherd is the largest washroom we have available. Fitted with six rustic-style showers and two toilets, it’s the perfect choice for big events or glamping weekends.

The Accessible Shepherd is a posh portable loo designed for ease of access. A vintage-style horsebox fitted with a ramp to access the disabled toilet facility and the added option for showers.

How it Works
1 - Make Your Enquiry
To become a franchisee, you will need to submit an enquiry form. When your application is accepted, we will share all the information you’ll need to make a fully informed decision.
We’ll provide a copy of our Franchise Information Memorandum, including full details of the investment and an illustrative trading projection to explain the potential profitability of a franchise during the first 3 years of operation.
We shall also assist you with preparing a business plan to support a funding application. You have as much time as you require conducting research in order to decide if owning a franchise is right for you.
3 - Everything You Need to Launch With a Head Start
When your business is ready to open its doors, we will provide the following:
- Pre-opening promotion via our central marketing programme.
- Intensive mentoring and engagement to guide you through the routines of the business.
- Facebook/Instagram and Google adverts for your location.
- Dedicated page on our website with meet the team.
- Google business profile setup for your yard.
- A newsletter and blog post introducing you to our current subscribed clients.
- Introduction to local venues and marquee suppliers.
- Recommendations of new local venues and marquee suppliers to make contact with.
2 - Train Your Staff & Set Up
Once you agree to join, Nomadic Washrooms helps you every step of the way with the set-up, launch and running of your business to help you to fully maximise its chance of success. Including:
- We will teach you everything you need to know about how to effectively operate the business. Having any type of related previous experience isn’t necessary. Our training programme starts right at the beginning and covers every aspect of the business.
- Designing a territory that is practical and offers the potential to meet your business ambitions.
- Supply of the toilet/shower trailers – Little Shepherd (x1), The Shepherdess (x1), the Showering Shepherd (x1) and The Master Shepherd (x2). • Full specification of the tools and equipment required.
- Assistance with company formation and IT support.
4 - Operate as a Franchisee
Our role is to help you run your business and manage the following:
- Enquiries and book events on your behalf.
- Central client invoicing and payment processing.
- Quality control monitoring.
- Webinars, chat forums and meetings to share ideas and updates.
- Regular mentoring and access to materials to help you maximise business performance.
- Technical development – continual review of trailer design and handling techniques.
By applying our proven methods and following the guidance we offer, you should expect the franchise to be very rewarding and profitable. Your responsibilities as a franchisee will be to manage the following:

Key Considerations
It's Toilets!
There’s an obvious “yucky” side of this business; the fact is, this business deals with collecting and disposing of sewage and wastewater. That said, we have techniques and equipment that make this task systematic, safe, risk-free, and as “un-unpleasant” as possible.
It's Practical & Personal
We deal with the organisers of prestige functions, but there will be times when you will have to do a bit of “parley”. Issues or late developments can happen, so our franchisees do need to be good communicators, well-organised and have a calm, reassuring attitude.
Depending on how you resource your business, it is necessary to be reasonably practical. Setting up the trailers on site and dealing with cleaning and maintenance requires getting stuck in, applying some physical effort and practical ingenuity.
Its Seasonal
The business operates all year round, but there are two distinct phases – Spring/Summer is when it’s all “hands to the pump” (literally!) delivering and collecting trailers from events. During Autumn/Winter event leads can be slower and the focus in this phase is on marketing, maintenance, and planning. Don’t forget to take a well-earned holiday!
If you like being out and about, on the road, then you’d love operating a Nomadic Washrooms business. Much of the time during peak season is spent delivering and collecting trailers, undertaking maintenance in between bookings. And, because bookings and payments are managed centrally on your behalf, administration is kept to a minimum.
It Requires Investment
We will give figures on application but we can assist with arranging finance. We are able to provide access to preferential funding packages that would enable a large proportion of the total investment to be financed.
