Job Description – Simon Ward Operations Manager

It is quite mixed, I build new shepherds huts over the winter either to add to our fleet or for those looking for bespoke build options, I also make any repairs to the trailers that have come back from the summer season. Over the summer I am hands on with prepping the trailers, delivery and set up. I am also on call if any issues arise while the trailers are at events across the UK.

Some deliveries can be really challenging to get the trailer in the perfect spot. The most difficult was a wedding in North Wales up a long and very narrow track with high stone walls either side, then I had to un-hitch and manoeuvre the trailer by hand.

What you enjoy doing outside of work?

My chosen career was a professional football player – I had trials for Crystal Palace – but a football injury put a stop to that. Now I love any field sports and go shooting and fishing as much as I can. I have six dogs, mainly Rhodesian Ridgebacks, that need a lot of love and exercise!

What You Enjoy About Working at Nomadic Washrooms

It’s the variety. Meeting so many different people and going to locations and events all around the UK, that I would not usually be able to. Fortunately, I love driving long distances and the set ups in difficult locations don’t phase me. Another part of my job, that I really enjoy, is the shows we attend such as The National Wedding Show and The Farm Innovation Event – its good to be involved in promoting a product that I believe in.
